  2. Music Tag

    Sunday, November 25, 2012

Hi my lovelies! I thought I'd do this tag so you guys can get an idea on the type of music I like. Do this tag too if you'd like!

Type these words into the search bar on your iTunes and list the first song that appears in the results.

Happy: Happy - Best Coast (great fucking album)

Love: Crown of Love - Arcade Fire

Hate: Perhaps Vampires is a Bit Strong But... - Arctic Monkeys (my all-time favorite band btw)

Light: Crying Lightening - Arctic Monkeys (the first song I loved by the Arctics)

Dark: I Will Follow You Into the Dark - Death Cab for Cutie (ex-favorite song, back in the day)

Good: Bet You look Good on the Dance Floor - Arctic Monkeys

    * From now on, I'm not putting any Arctic Monkeys songs because almost every single answer would be a song by them, this isn't a joke - I'm so obsessed

Bad: Bad Guys - Bleeding Knees Club (wonderful, wonderful band)

Smile: Sarah Smiles - Panic! At the Disco (one of my old favorite bands although they're still great. The song was actually Smile Like You Mean It, but I hate the Killers, so there yah go)

Cry: Why I Cry - Best Coast (from the newer album that I don't like - the first one is fucking killer though)

Boy: D the Boys - Angus and Julia Stone

Girl: My Girls - Animal Collective

Lost: She's Lost Control - Joy Division

Night: Bitch All Night - The Alpine

Day: Timber Nails and Tears - Barna Howard (from the Music Savage June playlist that I HIGHLY recommend)

Wolf: Mad World - Gary Jules (wolf is in the album title/this is actually the best song ever - from Donnie Darko, a great film with Jake Gyllenhaal, the best person alive)

Robot: Young Luff - Chocolate Robots

Dance: I'm Not Gunna Teach Your Boyfriend How To Dance With You - Black Kids

Time: Summertime Clothes - Animal Collective

Life: Leaving Time - Barzin (very sad song, but I love it. Perfect for falling asleep to)

Death: Bored to Death - Coconut Records (quite like this tune)

I hope you enjoyed this quick, fun post and found out about some new bands/songs. Have a great Sunday!
    Until next time, xx Michelle

  3. OOTN: Summer Nights

    Saturday, November 24, 2012

Hi my lovlies. This is a quick OOTN of an outfit I wore over the summer, quite a while ago.

    Dress: Guess
    Bag: Chanel (small black/silver hardware)
Shoes (not seen): Prada pumps (stolen from my mother (: )
    Until next time, xx Michelle

  4. Hi my lovelies. I'm doing the "why do you wear make-up tag" inspired by Yazmine from mindofa-dreamer.

    1) When did you begin wearing makeup? (I added the whole damn timeline).
    - I started around 8th grade (age 13) and really started to get into it; my everyday look consisted of dark dark brown liner on the waterline and top line.
    - Before that, I literally wore black eye-liner on my waterline only. I kind of shudder at the thought. Before then, I just wore the occasional lip-gloss. But even as a child, I loved using my mom's makeup - I'm sure it was hilarious looking
    - In 10th grade (age 15), I gained the confidence to wear a lot of makeup, like eye-shadow and lipstick, to school without being afraid of people telling me I'm trying to hard. I started rocking those damn bold lips.
-Now in 11th grade (age 16), I'd like to think of myself as a make-up connoisseur of sorts and I'm pretty sure I might do something with it down the road.

    2) How do you feel without makeup?
I'd like to think I don't need it, but truth be told I feel a bit naked without it on. I need to use at least my 3 holy-grail products (coming up) to feel really confident. I like makeup and I like doing it, so although I use a lot, I feel completely comfortable wearing less.

    3) What do you like about makeup?
    • I love how it can completely change someone; putting a bit of makeup on gives me so much more confidence and I feel like something better
    • I love how much of it there is and how theres a whole world revolving around it. There are so many brands and so many types and theres magazines and blogs just about it. Its beautiful and so many people realize that and that built this amazing community of people
    • theres so many things you can do with makeup and it can make a totally different persona for someone. I love putting it on people and just watching them trasform
    4) 3 holy grail products?

    MAC Brows Quad
    Vanilla: highlight
    Cork/Coquette: brows, eyeshadow
    Concrete: eyeliner/deep v
(runner up: Urban Decay Naked Palette)

    Smashbox High Def. Concealer (Light)
    Blends wonderfully, highly pigmented
I use this every day on any blemishes/redness/under the eyes

    Maybelline the Colossal Mascara
My favorite mascara I've tried and definitely a necessity. I can't believe there was ever a time that I thought I hated mascara

    Until next time, xx Michelle
Song of the Day: Grandgloves - Purity Ring

  5. Beauty Haul: Ulta

    Friday, November 23, 2012

Hi my lovelies. Over the weekend I went to ulta and picked up some bits and pieces.

    1) Real Techniques Stippling Brush
After all the hype, I finally picked one up.
I love using it to apply my ColorStay foundation concealer; it really creates that airbrush effect

    2) Smashbox Concealer (light)
My holy grail Tarte concealer became too dark and thus I was forced to abandon it as the light was too freaking light for my skin. Cahman Tarte, you need more than 3 shades
I absolutely love this concealer, definitely one of the best ones I've ever used
The Smashbox rep thought I was pretty so she gave the a mini mascara too (didn't enjoy it much though)

    3) Maybelline Colossal Volume Mascara
A repurchase and my favorite drugstore mascara!
It can flake though, but I put a very light swipe of the waterproof version, and that clears everything right up.

    4) Revlon Colorstay Foundation
    Long lasting and buildable coverage
Another super hyped item that was defiantly worth every penny.

    5) Urban Decay All-Nighter Spray
I got the mini .51 OZ bottle because it was adorable and right near the checkout counter - total sucker for anything mini
Great for nights out or any time you want your make-up to really stay the damn on your face

    6) Sugar Lip Balm (Fresh) (Mini)
    Lemon-y, mini, soft, and light.
I definitely wouldn't purchase this for full price though

    7) NYX Blush in Dusty Rose
Gorgeous, long-lasting, and inexpensive: whats not to love?

    8) Benefit High Beam
Gorgeous liquid high lighter that I've been lusting after for ages!

Thats all the products and mini-reviews. Until next time, xx Michelle

  6. Hey my lovlies. This is a look I turn to quite frequently, as it is a fail-safe look that always looks nice with minimal effort.

    1) A classic sheer button down shirt will never do you wrong
    2) A studded/regular oversized cardigan is a must- mine is well loved
    3) Black skinnies are everyone's best friend. My favorite are from rag and bone
    4) I own 3 pairs of combat boots. You can find super inexpensive ones and they go with anything to give more of a tough look
    5) Bold gold jewelry is everywhere and goes with everything!

    until next time, xx Michelle

  7. How To: Dotty Nails

    Thursday, November 22, 2012

Hi guys! So this weekend I decided to do some polka-dot nails inspired by Lily Pebbles.

I painted them a dark green color from OPI called "here today, aargon tomorrow". I did bigger and less dots on my middle finger and smaller and more dots on my ring finger. I did the same to my right hand.

The Rejuvacote is the shit, lemme just tell you. The Sally Hanson polish name is "pure white tip"(how goddamn original).

To create the dots, I dipped this wooden manicure stick shit into the white Sally Hanson nail polish and just dotted the fuck onto my nails.

    Until next time, xx Michelle
